Objectives obstacles Tactics
Every stage fight is a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
Every story is an opportunity to connect with audiences.
I have worked for 20+ years to bring stories to audiences in Off-Broadway houses to regional theatres to school gymnasiums. In that time, I’ve also developed methodologies for teaching Stage Combat and Shakespeare to students anywhere from the 4th grade level to college to those well into their 50’s.
Collaborate
As a fight choreographer, I work with directors and actors to build choreography that fits the story while keeping everyone safe.
All bodies move differently and it is important to find actions that the performers are comfortable portraying without sacrificing the spectacle and narrative.
What people are saying
"Thank you for all the time and work you put in for the apprenticeship. And that’s not just for the combat training, but the insight into clear story telling, physical mindfulness, and all the rest of it."
— Gale Hall (Former Student)“It was a pleasure working with you! Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had working with a fight director. I appreciated your collaborative style, energy, professionalism, and humor; for meeting each of us where we were/are.”
— Bonita Jackson (Actor)“Jordan was one of the best professors I’ve had [at The New School], he is a very good communicator and learning from him was a blast. He is very kind and understanding, I really appreciated the energy he brought to class. He pushed me to do my best work and I got a lot from this experience. No notes!”
